Quo Vadis (1951) - Nero's Feast
A clip from Mervyn LeRoy's historical epic Quo Vadis (1951), the classic adaptation of Henryk Sienkiewicz' famous historical novel "Quo Vadis: A Narrative of the Time of Nero" (1895). The scene depicts Lygia (Deborah Kerr), adoptive daughter of a retired Roman general and a Lygian princess, visiting a feast for the Roman Emperor Nero (Peter Ustinov) and his wife Poppaea (Patricia Laffan). She's accompanied by Acte (Rosalie Crutchley), Nero's former mistress and eagerly awaited by the Roman general Marcus Vinicius (Robert Taylor) who has fallen in love with her.
