ALBUM REVIEW: Asphyx, Deathhammer
The Dutch death/doom legends return with their first studio output in three years and their fourth with the hugely respected and talented Martin Van Drunen at the helm. Despite the issues I have with production and the relatively simple construction of most songs found here, this is still a pretty darn enjoyable slab of death metal in 2012. 8/10

Danish rockers Volbeat have decided to part ways with guitarist Thomas Bredahl. The band announced it on their official website: "Volbeat has decided to part ways with Thomas Bredahl. Being in a band is in many ways similar to a marriage with ups and downs. At times you can work it out and sometimes you need to go separate ways... We want to thank him for the work he has put in for Volbeat and we wish him all the best in the future. Volbeat will play all shows as announced, either as a trio or with a replacement guitarist. Right now we'll take a well deserved break and we will be back on the road in January, ready to rock the Gigantour and Wacken." Deathhammer, the brand-new upcoming album from Dutch death metallers Asphyx is set to be released on February 27th in Europe and a day later in North America through Century Media Records.
