This is the rough home demo for the Arabic-sounding track "Gates of Ishtar", which was written for the Star's End debut album "A Lighthouse On Nowhere's Sill". What you'll hear on this track are only the guitars (without bass), programmed (sampled) drums, and some temporary vocals by me, as the search for vocalists for the album continues. I've uploaded a few of the home demo's for the album onto Youtube mainly to quicken the search for potential musicians who might be willing to work on these tracks so production of the album can start as soon as possible. First off, some information about the album. It will feature twelve tracks, clocking in together at almost two hours, spread over two cd's. As of this year the album has been completely written, but at this point it only exists as rough pre-production demo's like the one you're listening to right now. As far as genre is concerned, you might say the album falls in the category of progressive metal, with all the variation in sound and style that entails. Most of the longer songs especially feature a range of different styles, ranging from prog rock to acoustic to melodic heavy metal. The status of the album then. At this point I have a producer and a studio to record the album in, a keyboard player (maestro Pete Mush of the band Quantum Fantay), a few backing vocalists and a guest bassist for the track "Gates Of Ishtar". I'm still looking for at least two or three male lead vocalists, a strong female lead for a few ...
