HOLLOW GROUND "Don't Chase The Dragon"
Formed in the North East of England in the late 70's, Hollow Ground became one of the cutting edge groups of the NWOBHM period. Although they only released six tracks, these have come to be considered classics of the genre. In 1980 they released the Warlord EP on Guardian Records containing the tracks "Flying High," "Warlord," "Rock On" and "Don't Chase the Dragon." This 7" record is highly sought after, and now changes hands for £200 in mint condition.

Kershaw Nerve: "Gee 10 EDC" by Nutnfancy
At 3.8 oz, the Kershaw 3420 is a bit heavy for me. Maybe I'm less forgiving of a blade shape that is less attractive to me. Sure the plunging, hollow ground drop point will be just the ticket for many folks putting it into the EDC role. But I have a hard time warming up to its lines. But the Nerve compensates with a lot of upsides. The 8Cr13Mov hollow ground blade has a very sharp tip that rivals the Leek's and the blade wears a keen edge out of box. The partially serrated 3420ST version is shown and wears the preferred scalloped Kershaw serrations that cut instead of rip. The blade is manual action deployed with a thumb plate which is of course ambidextrous. Lockup is tight, speed is adequate, in-handle retention is excellent, and blade centering needs no improvement (in this example). The milled G10 handle scales are well executing, providing medium traction levels for this EDC blade. The 420 SS liners are skeletonized aggressively (good job) and they are jimped with handle scales both top and bottom to provide some surprising traction on the Nerve. The pocket clip is positionable to TU/TD carry but strikes out on a strange angle in tip up orientation. The clip itself however is excellent and carries the 3420 adequately deep in pocket. Carry thickness is ok but lots of other EDC options, many Kershaw designs as, are more comfortable to carry. Witness the Skyline. Value is outstanding however and for the small price asked, the Nerve just might win a place in your high ...

This is my current favorite EDC knife the Sanrenmu Model 710. At less then 15 bucks shipped ($8 for the knife $3-6 for shipping) this is a no hassles, no worries blade! Made in the same factory as the Spyderco Tenacious; I think the built quality of these knives are on par with a more expensive knife (maybe in the $25-30 range).
