Lisa Thiel - Winter Solstice Song (Yule)
From now on no comments will be allowed on my paganvids. I've had it with the name-calling, threats and parts of the bible, trying to convert me. For all you pagans out there: Be Blessed! )0( Music by Lisa Thiel Vid by WiccaNoita LYRICS: Chorus: Enter the night and you'll find the light, That will carry you to your dreams. Enter the night, let your spirit take flight, In the field of infinite possibilities On the longest night we search for the light, And we find it deep within. Open your eyes to embrace what is wise, And see the light of your own soul shining. (Chorus) Wrap up in the cloak of starry darkness my child, And you'll find the center of all things. For from this space of the deepest dark place, Life Eternal does spring. (Chorus) So when you find that spark When you dream in the dark, Hold it close to your heart and know. All that you see is all that can be When you give birth to the dreams of your soul. (Chorus)

Winter Solstice "Silent night, Solstice night"
Please select the high quality option otherwise it may be a little difficult to read. My video's are made for DVD so often they lose a little quality on here. A small tribute to the Winter Solstice. For the record, I also celebrate Christmas :) This video is not intented to promote a single religion, but it IS intended to encourage religions to celebrate together :) We don't all have to agree, but we do all have to share the earth, it would be so much better if we could do it peacefully... I am also dedicating this video to all the religious fanatics who are using youtube to beat the heck out of one another, in particular, the Pagans... Sorry to single you (us) out, but it breaks my heart to see Pagans making spiteful video's against other religions, that in itself goes totally against what we stand for... I am not usually verbal about religion, but I am almost a full cycle of making these video's, this is seven of eight, and I have not had one nasty comment on them, which proves that if you present things nicely, and don't force it on people, then people are nice...it doesnt matter if people don't agree, but its lovely to share a little knowledge on a very misunderstood religion. As a Pagan, I feel that part of my duty is to show people that I am a decent, harmless person, and that the stereotype that television and Hollywood portray is so far from the truth. It is wrong of any Pagan to try and convert anyone to their way of thinking. Many video's are made in hate and ...

Winter Solstice Celebration at New York's Cathedral of St. John the Divine, by Paul Winter
New York's Holiday Celebration of Music, Dance and the Return of the Sun. Learn more about Winter Solstice at: www.solsticeconcert.com For three decades, Paul Winter's Solstice Celebration has joined The Nutcracker and Radio City Christmas as one of New York's favorite holiday traditions. The concerts—which are broadcast each year on 250 National Public Radio stations—have grown to become a holiday tradition in the Northeast. For the 2010 concerts (Dec. 16-18), the six-time Grammy® winning Paul Winter Consort will be joined by special guests Armenian vocalist Arto Tunçboyaciyan, Gospel singer Theresa Thomason and the dancers and drummers of Forces of Nature Dance Theatre. The program will include music from the Consort's new album Miho: Journey to the Mountain. Since ancient times, people have felt a calling to come together during the cold and dark December nights around Winter Solstice. In the tradition of these gatherings, the Winter Solstice Celebration is a chance welcome the return of the sun and the birth of the new year. This footage is from the 2009 Solstice, which featured Russia's Dmitri Pokrovsky Ensemble, New York's Forces of Nature Dance Theatre led by Abdel Salaam, and musicians Paul McCandless, Eugene Friesen, Jamey Haddad, Paul Sullivan, Eliot Wadopian, Bill Cahn, Tim Brumfield, Scott Sloan and Paul Winter. Winter Solstice 21 Dec 2010
Winter Solstice 2010 begins on 21 December 2010 at 23:38 GMT The winter solstice occurs exactly when the Earth's axial tilt is farthest away from the sun at its maximum of 23° 26'. Though the winter solstice lasts only an instant in time, the term is also colloquially used as midwinter or contrastingly the first day of winter to refer to the day on which it occurs. More evident to those in high latitudes, this occurs on the shortest day, and longest night, and the sun's daily maximum position in the sky is the lowest. The seasonal significance of the winter solstice is in the reversal of the gradual lengthening of nights and shortening of days. Depending on the shift of the calendar, the winter solstice occurs on December 21 or 22 each year in the Northern Hemisphere, and June 20 or 21 in the Southern Hemisphere. Worldwide, interpretation of the event has varied from culture to culture, but most cultures have held a recognition of rebirth, involving holidays, festivals, gatherings, rituals or other celebrations around that time. PaGaian Winter Solstice 2009
at Her PaGaian MoonCourt, Bru-na-BigTree, Blue Mountains, NSW Australia. The Poetry is largely from the book "PaGaian Cosmology" available on-line at pagaian.org. I acknowledge the work and inspiration of Starhawk, Thomas Berry, Brian Swimme and Connie Barlow, in this composition. The name "Tiamat" (meaning "Goddess Mother") used for the supernova that birthed our Solar system, was the name given to Her by Thomas Berry (see his book, co-authored with Brian Swimme, "The Universe Story"), though the celebration of Tiamat in Winter Solstice ritual was inspired by Connie Barlow - in her book "Green Space, Green Time". Tiamat is originally the name of the ancient Babylonian Goddess - and I also tell something of her story in "PaGaian Cosmology" p.73-74. The music "Mundus Vergens" by Pascal Languirand, from his CD "Gregorian Waves" is used with his permission www.myspace.com

Mythic - Winter solstice
Album: Winter solstice. Mythic is probably the best known all-female death metal act. The band history starts in early 1991 when guitarist Dana Duffey read about the female death metal band Derkéta in an underground fanzine. She contacted them and travelled from her hometown of Toledo, Ohio, to visit them in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. At that time Derkéta had actually broken up but she met up with the remaining members Mary Bielich (bass) and Terri Heggen (drums). Duffey relocated to Pittsburgh and the trio began writing new material. Duffey became the vocalist and main lyricist for the band for which the moniker Mythic was chosen. Within a montht hey had recorded a three song rehearsal tape on a four track recorder. The tracks were "The Destroyer", "Scarred For Life" and "Grande Grimoire". They also played several live shows on the East coast in Rhode Island, Cleveland, Detroit and Pittsburgh. Later that year they recorded an official live demo entitled "The Immortal Realm" which included the tracks "Thy Future Forecast", "The Destroyer", "The Oracle", "Taste Of The Grave", "Grande Grimoire" and "Lament Configuration". In 1992 they were offered an MCD deal from Pennsylvania based Relapse Records. "Mourning In The Winter Solstice" was released the same year on MCD, 7" (both traditional black and limited blue vinyl) and cassette. Soon after the mini album was released the band parted ways with Terri Heggen and they used a session drummer for their final performance at the ...

A Fire For You - (Winter Solstice) music by John Boswell
The composer's name should read John Boswell. Many apologies if you're out there John. These words touch my soul any time of the year but especially as the Winter Solstice approaches and parts of the US are headed full-steam into winter with sub-zero temperatures, ice, snow and fewer hours of sunlight. This is a great message that is good any time of the year but especially during this holiday season. Please consider sharing it with family or a friend. Thanks for viewing.
