The Young Gods est un groupe de musique industrielle/rock, formé en 1985 à Fribourg en Suisse, qui connaît une carrière internationale. Leur nom provient de la chanson Young God des Swans. La formation de 1985 comprenait Franz Treichler au chant (seul membre encore présent aujourd'hui), Cesare Pizzi (sampler), Frank Bagnoud (batterie). Puis Pizzi et Bagnoud partirent, remplacés par Al Comet (synthétiseur) et Use Hiestand (batterie), qui sera lui aussi remplacé plus tard par Bernard Trontin. Le groupe a acquis une reconnaissance certaine au cours du temps. De nombreux artistes les citent comme référence (entre autres Mike Patton de Faith No More, Devin Townsend, Maynard James Keenan de Tool, Sonic Youth, The Chemical Brothers, Marilyn Manson, David Bowie (notamment durant les années 1990), Ministry, KMFDM et même The Edge de U2. Ganz und gar nicht unauffällig ist die musikalische Botschaft des Schweizer Trios. Viel eher fühlt man sich bei der wummernden Soundmasse, die auf einen zu rollt, legt man die Nadel in die Rille einer Young Gods-Platte, an die Berliner Krachkünstler um Blixa Bargeld erinnert.
