Darkwoods My Betrothed - Whispers
Finnish Black Metal. From "Dark Aureoles Gathering" Demo, 1994 Formed in 1992 as Virgins Cunt, they set out to be the most blasphemous black metal band in Europe, in a rather tongue-in-cheek sense. After recording a couple demos under this name, the band started to take themselves a lot more seriously and changed their name to Darkwoods My Betrothed. They recorded the demo Dark Aureolis Gathering in 1994, not too different from the bands roots in extreme black metal, but it started to show serious maturity in the song-writing and delivery, mostly noticed in the strange and rather unnerving vocals; not only a traditional black metal shriek, the singers also did a wail-type of scream.

The Diabolical Eye Of The Nocturnal Holocaust - Darkwoods My Betrothed
A highly unappreciated and forgotten band of the Black Metal/Symphonic Black Metal genre. This is my favourite song from them, which I noticed is not available elsewhere here. For me, the desperate and shrill tone of the vocals blended with the audible assault from the instruments encompasses I love about this genre. I do not own the music nor the logo used here, but my intention is not to deprive the artist of royalties; it is to spread forgotten music to it's fans. Hail.
